Makimanohara tea producer Yamacen builds new tencha factory
Yamacen, a tea producer in Makimanohara, Shizuoka, is constructing a dedicated tencha factory near its existing seicha facility, with operations planned to begin in the 2025 spring harvest. The single-story steel structure will span approximately 500 square meters with a raw leaf processing capacity of 600 kilograms per hour. Unlike competitors who retrofit existing seicha lines for tencha production, Yamacen is preserving its core seicha manufacturing capability.
